Just For Kids is located in El Paso, Texas and operates Spring, Summer and Fall Flag Football seasons. We allow all children to shine here in our sports league. It's that time of the year again! Welcome to another Just For Kids Sports League Spring Fling. SPRING FLING 2010 that is!!!!
We will be registering teams this coming February for the following age groups. 8u, 10U, 12U, 14U and 19U (High School Age Group). We are also looking for players and teams in the 4-5 year age group to add the 5U age group this Spring.
Are you a new team looking at joining? Call 694-1451 for information on how to register your team with our league. Are you a new player looking for a team? Call 694-1451 and ask about joining one of the many teams forming throughout El Paso.
Are you in High School and looking at putting in your High School team into this Spring Season? Beware this is a high flying, high scoring age group!!!! Last Spring the kids from Canutillo/Eastwood took the Championship. Got what it takes to take it from them? El Dorado is coming, Riverside is coming, Del Valle is coming, Bel Air is ready to come and make their mark again, as well as a bunch of other teams. Hot Off The Press News!
11/1/09: Playoff Brackets are now up. Check what time your team is scheduled to play and who you will be playing. Remember that the playoffs are a 1 weekend tournament and you should make arrangements to be at the park for an extended period of time. This year lower seeded teams can play up to 3 games to win the Championship this coming weekend. If you have any questions please get with your coaches!
10/28/09: Playoff brackets are now up. The standings are still to close to tell where each team will end up, so they are only showing seedings and not team names. Team names will be put up after this weekends games!

The Steelers where looking at getting into the number 1 seed mix at the end of the season. The Desperados where looking at making it their 2nd upset in as many weeks. Both teams seemed to score at will with a TD coming from each team in almost every quarter. But in the end the Desperados where able to hold off the Steelers and score one more TD for a Final Score of Steelers L 18 vs. Desperados W 26. Both Teams played hard and should be proud of their efforts! Way to go players and coaches.

Scorpions vs. Mini Me's Blue
This was labeled as one of the games to watch this weekend. This was a defensive battle all game long. Neither team wanting to give up an points, like a Mr. Scrooge on Christmas Eve, neither team wanted to give up anything! But the Scorpions to a stinging TD lead in the game and held on all game long. The Mini Miners had a good drive in the end, but the Scorpions held tight on Defense and shut out the Mini Miners.Final Score Scorpions W 6 vs. Mini Me's Blue L 0. Both Teams played hard and should be proud of their efforts! Way to go players and coaches.

04/03/07 Miners become first college team in Hall of Fame. The 1966 Texas Western Miners carved another notch in history Monday, becoming the first college team to be elected to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. For more information on this story click on the image below.
Miner Basketball Timeline
Dec. 2, 1961: Don Haskins' first win as a college basketball coach is also his first game at Texas Western. The Miners shocked Iowa State 66-59.
March 3, 1963: Haskins takes the Miners to their first NCAA Tournament game. They lose to Texas 65-47.
March 4, 1964: They get their first NCAA Tournament win the next year, 68-62 over Texas A&M. 1963-64 was also his first 20-win season. The Miners went 25-3.
March 19, 1966: Texas Western wins the NCAA Tournament. Haskins makes history by starting an all-black lineup.
1967: Texas Western becomes the University of Texas at El Paso.
1970: The Miners win their first WAC regular-season title.
1984: The Miners win their first WAC Tournament title.
Sept. 29, 1997: Haskins is inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
Aug. 27, 1999: Haskins retires from the University of Texas at El Paso after 38 years.
Dec. 8, 2002: 1966 Miner point guard Bobby Joe Hill dies of a heart attack.
August 2004: Filming on Disney's "Glory Road" begins. It tells the story of the 1966 team.
Nov. 25-28, 2005: "Glory Road" premieres in El Paso.
Jan. 13, 2006: "Glory Road" is released across the United States.
