Games of the Week
Week 2
Mini Miners 8U vs. Tribe 8U
You could hear the drums beating on the Tribe sideline before the game. You could hear the mine shaft rumbling on the Mini Miners sideline before the game. The side lines were ready, the players were ready and at the kick off whistle these 2 little teams went at it and played like the big boys! It was a defensive battle, with both teams giving up chunks of yards, but never giving up the points. Back and forth these 2 teams went. At the end of regulation play, the score was Tribe 12 vs. Mini Miners 12, so to overtime they went. The Mini Miners struck first and scored a TD within their 4 plays. The Tribe got the ball and were in scoring position to send the game into a second overtime. But the Mini Miner defense tightened up and intercepted the tying TD pass and escaped with the win. Final score Tribe 12 vs. Mini Miners 19. Way to play hard both teams!!! Both teams played like champions!
Cowboys 12U vs. Rebels Blue 12U
And the battle of the 12U veterans began this weekend! The Cowboys showed up ready to strut their cowboys ways onto the football field. The Rebels showed up in a rebellious manner and ready to get onto that field. Red and Blue filled the Rebels side lines with chants of REBELS! Silver and Blue filled the Cowboys side line with chants of Cowboys! Problem for both teams is, both teams forgot their defenses at home! This was a shootout, with high flying offenses showing their stuff! The1st quarter the Rebels scored and the Cowboys answered. The 2nd quarter the Cowboys scored and the Rebels answered. Come the 3rd quarter these offenses did not show any fatigue and if you looked into their eyes at that very moment, you could literally see more scoring was about to come from both sides! Back and forth these 2 teams went, score after score. In the end though the Cowboys were able to pull out the game winning TD, leaving the Rebels no time to mount their scoring drive. Final Scored Cowboys 32 vs. Rebels 27. Way to play hard both teams!! Both teams played like champions!
