These 2 teams formed when there was to many kids to be on one team. They practiced on the same fields week in and out and at times practices together. This Playoff Weekend they played against each other for a Championship. This game was marked by big plays. It seemed that both Defenses where holding at points and with 1 big play a score would go into the books. With no time left on the clock and the score 19 vs. 20, the Orange team was able to score their extra point to make it 20 vs. 20 and take the game into overtime. In overtime the Blue team moved the ball well and put the the pressure on the Orange team to gain more yards. The Orange team was able to dig in deep and pull out a TD on their third play to win the game. Final Score Orange team 26 vs. Blue team 20. Both teams played hard and should be very proud of themselves. Way to go players and coaches.
10U Age Group
Mini Miners Blue vs. Desperados
This is the oldest rivalry in Just For Kids Sports League and in the past couple of years, this age group has been a very competitive age group for both these teams. The Mini Miners where coming off of Spring Championship and a Fall 2nd place finish. The Desperados where coming off of a Fall 2007 2nd place finish and a Fall 2008 1st place undefeated record. From the get opening kickoff of this game, you could see both teams playing at a Championship Level. The intensity was in the air, as well as the anxiety of who could pull off the first big stop and who could catch a break and pull away on the score board. For 4 hard fought Qtr.s these teams played hard. In the end the Mini Miners where able to pull away and take the Win. Final Score Mini Miners 22 vs. Desperados 12. Both teams played hard and should be very proud of themselves. Way to go players and coaches.
These are the MVP's for the Fall Blow Out 2008 Week 6. The Coaches and Officials based their decision on each childs overall effort including team work during the game.
